Manufacturer marketing review worksheet

Use this framework to organise evidence across audiences, positioning, routes to market, sales support and measurement. It helps prepare a useful review brief. It is not a scored diagnosis, a proprietary assessment or a substitute for discovery.

Practical guidance · Examples are illustrative unless linked to a named case study.

Start with the commercial question

State what the business wants marketing to help change. Assemble existing plans, sales feedback, campaign examples and available performance information. Distinguish what you know from what you assume.

Look for connections

A low volume of useful enquiries may reflect audience selection, the offer, distribution, a weak next step or the response process. Avoid deciding the cause from one metric. Review the journey from initial interest to a commercial conversation.

Talk to the people handling customer questions and partner relationships. Their evidence can help explain patterns that website or campaign reports do not.

Turn the review into decisions

For each gap, write down the decision needed and who can make it. Prioritise by commercial relevance and dependency rather than by which channel is easiest to change.

Use the worksheet to brief a review or strategy conversation. EF Consulting’s discovery offer ranges from a focused marketing review to deeper research and a plan; the appropriate depth is agreed to the situation.

Keep an evidence trail

Record where information came from and when it was checked. If evidence is missing, assign a next step rather than giving the business an invented score. Entries below remain in the current browser tab only; print a copy before leaving if you need to retain them.

Your working notes

Notes stay in this tab only and disappear on reload. Print a copy to keep them. Nothing here is submitted.
